Specsavers confirms its commitment to Kirkby Town Centre

St. Modwen has agreed a new deal with Specsavers to occupy a larger unit at Kirkby Town Centre in Knowsley.

The national opticians has occupied a unit in Kirkby for 13 years on St. Chads Parade located next to travel agents, Thomas Cook and opposite Costa Coffee. This new deal will see Specsavers expand its exisiting unit and create a larger 2,568 sq ft store. Specsavers has signed a 10 year lease.

The expansion will enable Specsavers to operate a larger hearing provision in-store whilst retaining all current amenities.

Andrew Day, Asset Manager at St. Modwen, said: “We are really pleased to have secured this lease renewal with Specsavers as long standing tenants of Kirkby. The additional space will enable the full Specsavers offering and bring further amenity to the town centre which will be well received by the community.”

Tazveer Sahota, Store Director of Specsavers in Kirkby, said: “I am delighted to have secured a long term lease for an expanded Specsavers store here at Kirkby Town Centre. I hope the investment in providing an increased optical and hearcare proposition will be greatly received by the local community. Specsavers looks forward to continuing to be an integral part of the Kirkby Town Centre for many years.”

This announcement follows what was another hugely successful Christmas lights switch-on event in Kirkby Town Centre, held 0n Thursday 22 November. A star-studded line up was showcased in Newton Gardens, followed by a show-stopping firework display.

Thousands of people came to see performances from a variety of famous talent show stars such as The Voice 2016 WINNER Kevin Simm, Ella Shaw, Britain’s Got Talent Winner Jai Dowall, X-Factor’s Ryan Lawrie and a special performance from B*Witched’s front woman Edele.
