ST. MODWEN GETS GREEN LIGHT FOR FURTHER GROWTH AT TAMWORTH LOGISTICS PARK
Expert developer and regeneration specialist, St. Modwen, has received planning approval from Warwickshire County Council to build almost 480,000 sq ft of additional manufacturing, storage and distribution space at its 35-acre Tamworth Logistics Park.
Strategically located next to junction 10 of the M42, the site is an ideal space for both distribution and manufacturing companies.
The developer’s intended scheme will see a further four buildings constructed on the site. The additional facilities will complement three existing units already approved by the local authority for the development, which total 89,000 sq ft of space. Work on this initial phase will commence next month.
St. Modwen’s latest planning application now forms part of a second and final phase of development at one of the Company’s flagship sites. Once completed, the entire development could create up to 1,700 new jobs in the area.
St. Modwen’s second phase of development will counter the lack of supply of larger industrial units in the region, providing future occupiers with the opportunity to operate at the heart of the Midlands motorway network.
Gregg Titley, Development Director at St. Modwen, said: “To have secured planning for four additional units and already be looking ahead to a second phase of development is proof of the delivery of our strategic plan.
“We are looking to double our industrial and logistics schemes in the Midlands and Tamworth Logistics Park’s highly desirable location and proximity to the M42 corridor make it a prime site with all the requirements for an occupier; location, labour and power. This site clearly evidences the Company’s growth within the region.”
As part of the Tamworth development, St. Modwen will create a new access off Trinity Road to service the site. A substantial area of existing open space to the south-west of the site has also been retained, providing natural wildlife habitats.
