St. Modwen kick starts construction on major new employment site in Bury

St. Modwen has started work on the first phase of development at Chamberhall Business Park, Bury, with the build of 130,000 sq ft of industrial and logistics space underway.

Together with chosen construction partner, Lindum Group, St. Modwen will deliver 14 units ranging from 2,500 – 25,000 sq ft, with the first phase due to complete in September. The developer is currently progressing lettings on more than half of the scheme’s units.

Strategically located just off the A56, the 17-acre parcel of land is one of Bury Council’s allocated employment sites and was granted planning permission in January 2019. The new scheme will provide up to 400 jobs, helping to boost to the local economy and supporting the authority’s ‘Bury But Better’ Vision and Development strategy.

Chamberhall Business Park, along with Stonebridge Business Park in Liverpool, form part of St. Modwen’s largest-ever committed industrial and logistics pipeline, standing at 1.6m sq ft nationally. Both schemes contribute to St. Modwen’s longer-term pipeline of over 15m sq ft – one of the biggest in the UK.
