ST. MODWEN HOMES PRESENTS £345 TO THE MUMBLES LIFEBOAT STATION

St. Modwen Homes presents cheque to The RNL Mumbles Lifeboat Station, Swansea

St. Modwen Homes has handed £345 to the crew at The RNLI Mumbles Lifeboat Station in Swansea, to support its lifesaving work.

The housebuilder raised the money at the Mumbles Raft Race in August, where it sailed across the finish line in an impressive sixth place.

Raft builder and crew captain Gordon Woosnam, a telehandler driver at the housebuilder’s nearby Hendrefoilan Park development in Sketty, presented the money with colleagues Ian Pickering and Richard Morgan.

Gordon said: “As a housebuilder in the local area we are keen to support charities wherever we can. Like me, many of the people working on the Hendrefoilan Park development are from the local area and hold the RNLI close to their hearts. We hope this money will support the charity’s vital work saving lives at sea.

“We had a really great time taking part in the raft race and are already designing our vessel for next year’s competition!”

Dai Thomas of The RNLI Mumbles Lifeboat Station added: “As a charity we depend on fundraising to conduct our lifesaving work, so we are delighted with this donation from St. Modwen Homes. It will be used to help fund the day to day running of the station as well as purchase vital protective kit such as life jackets and helmets that the lifeboat crew wear at sea.”

St. Modwen Home’s raft was called the Grey Panther and boasted a wooden house shape complete with roof, chimney and St. Modwen Homes flag.
